You don’t have to exercise twice a day and limit your diet to only salad to lose weight! Getting active and introducing small changes to your diet may be all you need to achieve your body composition goals.

Push the diet pills aside and try these super easy weight loss tips below!

Increase your protein intake

Yes, carbohydrates are delicious and great for proving your body with energy but protein is great for controlling cravings and keeping you fuller for longer. Eating meals that are high in protein will leave you feeling more satisfied and can prevent you from snacking all day.

Swapping your sugary snack for a protein shake is an easy and convenient way to boost your protein intake and curb your sugar craving!

Get in 10,000 steps a day

Don’t underestimate the power of walking! Going for a walk is a great way to burn calories that doesn’t require a whole lot of energy. Did you know a brisk 30-60 minute walk can burn up to 200 calories? If you have a fairly sedentary job, try setting yourself a daily step goal and include a morning or afternoon walk in your daily routine.

Walking is also great to improve your circulation, strengthen your muscles, and improve your sleep!

Get active on the weekend

If the gym isn’t for you, try planning a fun weekend activity that will get your body moving. Whether it’s an outdoor hike, walk along the beach, or bike ride with your family, getting active on the weekend is a great way to sneak in some exercise and spend time with your loved ones while you are at it!

Meal prep for the week ahead

Avoid opting for fast food or less nutritious meals during the week by spending a couple of hours on the weekend preparing some healthy meal options. Having nutritious meal options ready to go is a great way to stay on track with your diet during the week.

Meal prep doesn’t have to be fancy. Start simple with one-pot recipes that you can divide into a few servings for each night during the week. Focus on including a protein, carbohydrate, and healthy fat source within each meal.

Don’t drink your calories

Juice, sugary drinks, frappuccinos, and alcohol all contain calories but won’t leave you feeling satisfied or remotely full. Sticking to water or zero-calorie drinks like black coffee or sparkling water is a great way to cut down on calories. Life is all about balance but if you want to lose a couple of pounds, it could be worth limiting your evening glass of wine to the weekend only.
