Superfoods is a buzzword given to any food that packs a powerful nutritional punch, relative to its size. These foods include everything from the more exotic Acai berries and Maca, to everyday foods such as Cherries and Almonds. Health benefits include a huge dose of vitamins and minerals, alongside antioxidants that fight cell-damaging, disease inducing free-radicals. Some Superfoods also contain active compounds that illicit particular health benefits, such as Turmeric, which contains a potent anti-inflammatory compound known as Curcumin that’s great in combating pain.
