For better Calcium absorption with Hydroxyapatite, Vitamin D3 and nutritional cofactors, Calcium Complete Gold is a complete bone health formula that provides 274mg of total elemental calcium per tablet
Formulated with two highly-bioavailable forms of calcium: Hydroxyapatite and Calcium citrate, so more of the elemental calcium actually ends up absorbed by the body, it contains nearly twice the Hydroxyapatite of original Super Calcium Complete for even better calcium absorption
Super Calcium Complete Gold provides 250IU of Vitamin D3, which provides essential support for calcium absorption and use and also contains herbal and mineral cofactors such as Magnesium, Manganese, Horsetail herb, Zinc and Boron to support bone mineralisation
- Building strong bones and healthy bone density
- Maintaining the calcium and magnesium levels necessary for healthy bone strength and function
- Providing support against calcium loss
- Supporting nerve and muscle function
- Supporting healthy heart function
The body reaches its peak bone mass at around age 30, so it is important for both men and women to build as much bone mass as possible before this age. After this, the rate of bone loss begins to exceed that of bone building, which results in gradual net bone loss over time. Poor nutrition in early life (before this peak) can reduce the levels of bone mass at the peak, thus increasing the risk of developing osteoporosis later on in life.
Strong, healthy bones are essential for an active lifestyle; but without the right nutrients in the right amounts, bones can end up growing weaker and losing density. Over time, this can result in osteoporosis – a disease in which bones become porous and brittle, breaking more easily, and taking longer to heal if damaged. Osteoporosis is increasingly common, affecting as many as 1 in 2 NZ women and nearly 1 in 3 NZ men over 60.1 The best way to prevent it is to start building bone density as early possible, by ensuring sufficient calcium and Vitamin D intake, and regular weight bearing exercise to strengthen bones. After menopause, bone mass can decline quite significantly due to the lowered levels of oestrogen (bone-protective hormone).

Some medications, including Fosamax (Alendronate) and other bisphosphonate drugs, Oroxine (Levothyroxine) or tetracycline antibiotics (e.g.Minomycin, Doxycycline) can form insoluble calcium complexes that inhibit absorption of both the calcium and the medication. Customers on these medicines should take this product at least 2 hours apart from their medication.
Calcium can also inhibit iron absorption, so customers taking iron supplements should take them at least 1 hour before or after taking this product.
Compounds in certain foods (including wheat bran, legumes, some leafy greens and almonds), protein, caffeine and sodium may impair Calcium absorption. Allow 1 hour between consuming these foods and taking a Calcium supplement.
